Volunteer Opportunities
Dear Fellow Kiwanis, Past Counselors, Nurse Volunteers and/or Friends of Casey:
Kiwanis Camp Casey 2012 will be held from Sunday, July 29 to Saturday, August 4, 2012
It is time to start figuring the staffing needs for Camp. We need your help!
It is our goal to have a Kiwanis interclub come up each day to help us staff camp. Kiwanians cook the meals, set up and clean up the mess hall and wash camper's laundry and help with arts and crafts. Volunteers are needed to stay overnight to help with our fire watch. Thursday evening August 2 we need additional adult volunteer help. Thursday night we give the volunteer counselors a night off. In past years, we have had two adults in each barracks for 2-3 hour overnight shifts. Friday is a busy day; we pack up camper's gear and clean the campgrounds. We also need volunteers willing to help clean up for camp checkout on Saturday morning. Anytime you can come up to volunteer from Saturday July 28 initial set up, to Saturday, August 4 final camp clean up will be much appreciated!
Please follow the link below to complete the volunteer application online. We complete a Washington State Patrol background check on all volunteers before attending camp. We try our best to keep our records and repeat the checks every two years as required by law. Results will not be released to you unless they are unsatisfactory. In addition to the volunteer application, there is also a link for the release form below, which must be completed and returned to Debbie Purser before working at camp (her address is in the release form).
Be sure to let us know if you would like to order a t-shirt, list your size on the application. Include a check payable to North Central Kiwanis for $15.00. We must receive payment by July 15 to guarantee quantities. T-shirts are provided free for each camp nurse and counselor.
For Kiwanis members who are unable to volunteer because of other commitments, we still want to stay connected with you.
Please consider joining us at our picnic held up at Fort Casey State Park.
It will be held on Thursday, August 2, 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Simply RSVP by email to: director@campcasey.org.
Thanks a Casey Bunch!
Kiwanis Camp Casey Committee

In addition, people who have a current license as a registered nurse are needed to assist the Head Nurses with providing nursing services to our campers. This includes dispensing medications, monitoring bowel and bladder, feeding tube programs and of course the much needed TLC as needed. Please indicate on the adult volunteer application if you are qualified and interested in volunteering as a nurse. Our director will email a nurse application and one of our head nurses will contact you with more information.
